Limited stock – order soon!

This one-of-a-kind bolo tie is a solid sterling silver cast cicada, featuring a large horizontal labradorite stone above, framed in a fine silver bezel. Labradorite is a naturally color-shifting stone, and will flash delightfully when the light hits it right. Notice that in the photos it can look like a more basic gray from some angles, and like the aurora borealis from others.

Bolo tie measures 3.1” x 2.2”.

Cord tips are silver-plated base metal. Black leather cord is machine braided, 36” (if you’d like the longer cord option, leave me a note at checkout).

New for 2026-2027!
The Cicada – the tiny insect who produces the huge sound of desert summer. When temperatures rise and the buzzing begins, desert dwellers begin to dream of the arrival of the summer rains. This cicada bolo tie is wearable art, a true conversation starter for discussions of the rain, the land, and the people who love them.

This species is the plains cicada (Megatibicen dealbatus), collected as a dead specimen from the sidewalk of downtown Silver City, New Mexico. The specimen was then molded and cast in metal by artist Spring Winders in small batches at the Heliotrope studio in Barrio Viejo, Tucson Arizona. Heliotrope is a small, woman-owned business.

Please read our reviews! there's a lot of cheap junk out there being sold online as jewelry (especially bolo ties). But those who have held Spring's art in their hands know: Heliotrope is the real deal, and her pieces are true heirlooms-in-the-making. You won't be disappointed.

Cord length options:
- 36" Recommended for people under 6' tall
- 42" Recommended for people 6' tall or taller.
